Head injuries in children and young people is common with 35,000 presenting to Emergency Departments a year in the UK.
5% of those patients will have a intracranial complication due that head injury.
And of those 35,000 patients only 1% will actually have a clinically important brain injury…which is why we need the guidelines discussed in this podcast to make sure we don’t over-scan!
